Our firm is a recognized leader in the legal community:

  • Peck Ritchey was hired by the City of Chicago’s Department on Aging, to rewrite the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act.
  • Managing partner, Kerry Peck is past-president of the Chicago Bar Association and founded the Elder Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association.
  • As president of the Chicago Bar Association, Kerry successfully enacted new law changes in relation to Durable Powers of Attorney.
  • Partner Kerry Peck has been elected to Illinois “Super Lawyers” by his peers (as featured in Chicago Magazine) for 2007-2015.
  • Peck Ritchey has been chosen as “Leading Lawyers” 2008-2015.
  • Kerry was named one of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law’s 125 Alumni of Distinction. This honor recognized 125 trailblazing, innovative and successful alumni who have helped shape the legal profession, given back to their communities and to the law school.
  • Kerry was asked by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education to author chapters on Will Contests and Guardianship.
  • Kerry has testified before the Illinois House and Senate.
  • Kerry is frequently appointed by the court as Guardian Ad Litem, Trustee, Executor, and Administrator.
  • Kerry Peck was named by Jewish News as a “Jewish Chicagoan of the Year” in 2007 and labeled an ‘Activist for the Aging.’
  • Kerry Peck appointed adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School to teach guardianship course in elder law program.
  • Kerry Peck is frequently asked by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education to speak on topics related to Probate, Guardianship and will/trust litigation and estate planning.
  • Timothy Ritchey received the Young Alumni Award from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014. The Award is bestowed on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the practice of law, public service, and volunteering.

I solicited Peck Ritchey, LLC for assistance with a living trust for which I became the beneficiary. I needed assistance with understanding the details of how it all worked. However, I was especially concerned because there were threats of allegations made by family members and a lawsuit was filed against me. I needed a solid professional who had my best interests in mind. Peter Brady took my case and he managed it flawlessly. He explained everything in a way I could understand, he knew the law inside and out, he was always available to answer questions, and even offer support when things seemed like they could become extremely problematic. In addition to this, he had a plan. He navigated the course as if he already knew the next move by the opposing attorney. He made me feel like everything was in control and that’s because he knew exactly what he was doing and he consulted with me about everything.
