Peck Ritchey, LLC, Senior Associate Brandon Peck organized a 90 minute seminar on Dispositive Motions at the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) on October 30, 2014. The panel presentation featured Hon. James G. Riley, Supervising Judge of the Probate Division, Hon. John H. Ehrlich, Circuit Court Law Division, Tim Ritchey and Matthew Jenkins. Brandon, the CBA YLS Public Service Manager, organized the seminar.
The presentation featured a discussion on the judicial perspective on 2-615 and 2-619 Motions to Dismiss. Pleading requirements for filing and answering 2-615 and 2-619 Motions to Dismiss, including considerations on timing, elements and content before the Circuit Court of Cook County were examined. The panel also talked about strategies employed by practitioners during drafting and arguments to the Court.
