Chicago, IL – Kerry R. Peck, managing partner of the Chicago litigation firm Peck Ritchey, LLC, will be on a panel discussing “Capacity, Protection, and the Prevention of Abuse of Older Persons” at the John Marshall Law School’s 2014 International Elder Law and Policy Conference in Chicago, IL.
The Conference which is bringing international scholars, advocates, and policy makers together to participate in an academic discussion on the law, policy, and implementation of legal protections for older persons around the globe is taking place July 10-11th. The “Capacity, Protection, and the Prevention of Abuse of Older Persons” panel is on July 11 from 9:15 – 10:45 a.m.
“It’s important to have discussions about how we can help protect vulnerable older adults,” said Kerry Peck “I’ve spent a large portion of my career fighting for the best care and financial safeguards for my clients. I look forward to providing my insights as well as learning from my colleagues at the Conference.”
Kerry is a past President of the 22,000-lawyer Chicago Bar Association. He is chair of State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez’s Elder Abuse Task Force and was retained by the City of Chicago Department of Aging to rewrite the State of Illinois Elder Abuse and Neglect Act. He co-wrote the book Alzheimer’s and the Law, published by the American Bar Association, and is a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars for attorneys and healthcare professionals across the country. Kerry is also a member of Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter.
