What types of guardianship are possible in Illinois?
There are a range of different forms of guardianship that may be conferred under the legal code of Illinois. This may include limited guardianships, which are best adapted to situations in which an individual is capable of making some but not all decisions relating to their person and estate; plenary guardianship, best suited to situations in which the guardian will need to make all important decisions about how an individual will be cared for and how their finances will be managed; guardianships of the person or of the estate, conferring on the guardian the right to make decisions exclusively within one of these areas; as well as others.
