The Honorable Susan M. Coleman (Ret.) joined Peck Ritchey of Counsel in 2018 and concentrates her practice in estate and trust litigation, and elder law.
Judge Coleman’s career on the bench began in 1997 when she was appointed as an Associate Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County. She served in the Juvenile Court and in the Fourth Municipal District, Maybrook. Judge Coleman heard a wide assortment of cases before being assigned to the Probate Division at the Daley Center in 2005, where she presided over decedents’ estates matters. For thirteen years, she supervised the administration of thousands of estates and trusts. She retired from the bench in 2018.
Prior to her time on the bench, Judge Coleman was employed as a trial lawyer in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and subsequently engaged in private practice in the Western Suburbs of Chicago from 1988 until her judicial appointment.
